What does this Mean for Customers with outstanding Orders?
My brands are closing because I am personally dedicating my time to new income-generating work so I can continue to resolve all outstanding matters for customers and creditors of Nerida Hansen Fabrics.
A lot of challenges have dramatically slowed my capacity to deliver orders and refunds but nothing will stop me from trying to do so.
Nerida Hansen & Nerida Hansen Fabrics Brands are closing down
The Brands Nerida Hansen and Nerida Hansen Fabrics are Closing Down
After many years of building a vibrant, creative brand, I’ve made the decision to close my business and permanently withdraw my name and brand from the marketplace. This decision has been made with deep reflection and mixed emotions — but it is time to move forward.
How do I contact you?
All contact should be via the general General Submission page at the Nerida Hansen Website HERE.
A dedicated staff member will begin handling all enquiries from this Wednesday 16th June
Why Can't I email you directly?
Online Abuse.
I have filled in a form already, why haven't I heard anything?
The great benefit of online forms vs email is that all contact can easily be recorded and viewed, no matter how many enquiries we get.
The lack of communication is a combination of reluctance to expose myself to online abuse, and the sheer productivity I am required to undertake to close out all orders and refunds.
Cindy or Charlie will be in touch will all customers over the coming weeks, starting this Wednesday 16th June.
I was told last month my order was on the way, where is it?
All the orders that were updated in May are ready to ship from my factory. Customers should expect tracking numbers in the next couple of days.
What About Refunds that Have not yet been paid?
My business was completely wiped out, and I have had extensive leave to manage the trauma. Since taking leave, I have had to be very creative and come up with new business to support outstanding refunds and orders.
It is virtually impossible to deliver both at once, but with new positive steps in place, and relinquishing the needs of my design business I am confident of increasing my capacity to refund.
With a new customer service support I will also be able to offer alternative arrangements for customers, such as credits to other fabric.
Refunds
When the social media harassment escalated, there was perception amongst many that when a customer places an order, the funds remain readily available—ready to be refunded or reallocated at a moment’s notice. Prior to the situation escalating, I had had never denied a customer a refund who was unhappy, including late deliveries. My terms and conditions even included a timeframe that when exceeded, I would be happy to refund.
, and this is clearly documented in But in most small businesses, especially those rebuilding from collapse, that simply isn’t the case. At the time, my buffer was slim. I paid my manufacturer upfront, invested in a retail space to reconnect with customers, increased staff, and began building a micro dressmaking hub to bring new energy into the business. With momentum building and fabrics shipping directly from my factory, I was close to catching up. I had every intention—and a clear path—to fulfill all outstanding orders. But when the pressure from chargebacks and online defamation escalated, the entire structure crumbled faster than I could recover.
Global De-Stash is a New Initiative, in conjunction with myself and a team based in Vietnam
It is a website which is trialing a new type of business, starting with a "found fabrics" store, with fabrics sourced from open markets.
There are some unique features being developed in conjunction with another marketplace service that offer sewers and fabric retailers a new platform that I am incredibly honoured to be part of.
I own the site, but have been extremely fortunate to partner with some other energetic ecommerce and sourcing contacts in Vietnam and India who offer next-level technology and customer service.
Global De-stash is designed to benefit makers and fabric re-sellers worldwide, and because the Nerida Hansen followers are are integral to this exciting project all Nerida Hansen social media handles will be changed to "Global De-Stash" in the coming days or weeks. Stay Tuned for more details
